Utilities Price increase warning to all customers.

Friday 9 September 2011

Ofgem reported in June 2011 that energy prices have had a strong upward shift in the last six months, owing to global events. This means that the price for the forthcoming winter's energy is around 30% higher than the price for last winter.

Despite the economic slowdown and the summer weather the UK has enjoyed, demand for electricity and the price per unit has reached a 17 month peak recently.

Domestic prices have increased by circa 20% already and there was a warning reporting in the Telegraph in June 2011 that gas is likely to reach 30%. In July the Bank of England predicted a further 18% rise in energy prices.

Based on this information, Procuria is encouraging all businesses to look at the contractual obligations for their energy supply. If you are unsure as to where you stand with your energy provider you can contact us on 01270 261111. We can establish your contract obligations, serve notice on your behalf and carry out a full market tender at NO COST to your business.
